FAQ
Answers to common questions about Mac repair and our service process.
That is where the name started (A1706, A1707, A1708), but similar display and backlight flex failures happen on other MacBooks — Pro 16-inch A2141, M1/M2/M3 Pro 14 and 16, MacBook Air, and 2020 M1 Pro 13. We diagnose by symptoms and torch test, not model year alone.
They can show the same symptoms — lid-angle flicker, pink lines, or no backlight with a faint torch image — from flex fatigue or backlight path failure. The cable design changed, so repair approach varies by model. Bring it in for a free hinge and torch check before assuming you need a full panel.
Often yes, or a related flex/backlight fault. Air models see this less than 2016–19 Pro units but we regularly service A1932, A2337, and M2/M3 Air with flicker or dim bands that track lid angle. Diagnosis confirms cable vs panel.
Backlight flex service starts from ₹4,500. Display flex (pink lines / data flex) starts from ₹6,500 when the LCD is healthy. M-series and 16-inch models are quoted after inspection. Full display replacement is a separate price — we only recommend it when the panel is damaged.
Usually a torn display data flex — common on 2016–2019 MacBook Pro and possible on other models. If bars shift when you move the lid, it is likely the cable. A smashed or liquid-damaged panel needs display replacement instead.
Yes. That pattern means the LCD still works and the backlight path — often the flex cable — has failed. Classic Flexgate on older Pros; similar on other MacBooks. We do not replace the whole display unless the panel itself is dead.
Very common on A2141. We see backlight flex and display flex failures on daily-use 16-inch units. Cable repair is often possible; we confirm with torch and lid-angle tests before quoting a full Liquid Retina panel.
In many cases, yes — on Intel Pros, M-series Pros, and some Air models. Depends on whether the LCD glass is cracked, whether liquid entered the panel, and which flex failed. We quote both paths after free diagnosis.
Torch test and quote are usually same-day. Cable service often finishes same-day or next day when the part is in stock. M-series and 16-inch assemblies may need 1–2 days for parts.
Shut it down straight away, unplug the charger, and do not keep pressing the power button to see if it still works. Every power-up pushes current through wet traces and spreads the corrosion. Turn it upside down like a tent and bring it in. Do not put it in rice, it does nothing and it costs you the time that actually matters.
Cleaning and corrosion treatment starts from ₹2,500. If ICs have failed, board-level repair is quoted after assessment, commonly between ₹4,500 and ₹12,000 depending on which rails are affected. We open the machine, photograph the corrosion and quote before doing anything.
Often yes. What decides it is the liquid, the time elapsed, and whether it was powered on while wet. Plain water caught within a day or two usually recovers. Sugary drinks left for weeks with repeated power-on attempts are much harder, because the residue keeps eating the board after the surface feels dry.
Usually not. We pull data off the drive as the first step, before board work, so your files are safe even if the repair later turns out uneconomical. On Apple Silicon and T2 machines the storage is soldered to the board, so recovery has to happen at chip level, which is work we do in-house.
Assessment is usually same-day. Cleaning and corrosion treatment typically takes 1 to 2 days because the board needs proper drying time between stages. If ICs need replacing, allow 2 to 4 days depending on parts.
Yes, and quickly. A machine that survived the spill is the best possible case, because the corrosion has not spread yet. Most of the write-offs we see are machines that worked fine for two or three weeks and then died once the residue reached a power rail.
We tell you honestly after assessment. If the board damage is extensive on an older Intel machine, we will say the repair is not worth it rather than take the job. On newer Apple Silicon models a board repair is almost always far cheaper than replacement.
When issues aren't solved by normal part replacements (battery, keyboard, display) and diagnostics indicate board-level faults such as failed ICs, power rail damage, or liquid corrosion.
Micro-soldering is the process of replacing individual IC chips and components on the logic board using precision equipment. This is more cost-effective than full board replacement and preserves your data.
Yes — we specialise in advanced liquid damage recovery. Our process includes ultrasonic cleaning, corrosion removal, and IC chip replacement where components have failed due to liquid exposure.
Reliability depends on the fault and component condition. We share full diagnosis results and repair options before proceeding, and all completed board repairs carry a 90-day warranty.
Diagnosis is often same-day. Board repair turnaround depends on fault complexity — typically 1–3 days for micro-soldering work.
Signs include fast drain, unexpected shutdowns, service battery warning, or visible swelling.
Many replacements can be completed the same day depending on model and availability.
Battery replacement typically doesn't affect data. We still recommend a backup when possible.
Individual key and mechanism repair starts from ₹2,500. Trackpad replacement is quoted after we confirm the trackpad is the actual fault. A full top case assembly is the most expensive option and we only recommend it when the keyboard cannot be repaired, typically from ₹5,499 depending on model.
Yes, and often without replacing the whole top case. On 2016 to 2019 models a jammed or repeating key is usually debris under the butterfly mechanism, which can be cleaned or the individual key rebuilt. We check that before quoting a full assembly.
Usually yes, and often it is not the trackpad. A swelling battery sits directly under the trackpad and pushes it up until it cannot travel. If that is the cause, replacing the battery fixes the click and prevents worse damage later. We diagnose before quoting.
Yes. Repeating characters are the classic butterfly-keyboard symptom and are usually mechanical, not electronic. Wrong characters across a whole row more often points at the keyboard flex connector, which is also repairable.
It starts as one but often is not. The keyboard membrane spreads liquid sideways towards the logic board, so we assess for corrosion before treating it as a keyboard job. If the board is affected, that becomes a liquid damage repair.
Same-day for key and mechanism work on most models. Trackpad and top case replacements depend on parts availability, usually 1 to 3 days, and we confirm the timeline with the quote.
Yes, for most iMac models. We confirm part availability and quote after verifying the exact model.
It could be power supply, logic board, or other faults. We run full diagnostics before recommending repair.
On supported Intel models, yes. Apple Silicon iMac storage is soldered — we advise on options at diagnosis.
Yes — in many cases, component-level micro-soldering can fix the specific failed IC or power rail, which is significantly more affordable than a full logic board replacement.
No power, no boot, random shutdowns, graphics artifacts, port failures, and liquid damage. We diagnose at chip level to identify the exact fault.
Yes. We handle both Intel and M-series iMac logic board repairs, including chip-level work where feasible.
Diagnosis is often same-day. Micro-soldering repairs typically take 2–5 days depending on fault complexity and parts availability.
Could be cable, port, GPU, or logic board related. We test with known-good displays and cables.
On Intel Mac mini models with removable storage, yes. M-series storage is soldered.
Many diagnostic cases are same-day. Part-dependent repairs vary by availability.
Yes — component-level micro-soldering can often fix the specific failed chip or power rail, avoiding a costly full board replacement.
It could be the HDMI port, cable, or a board-level fault. We test with known-good displays and diagnose at chip level to confirm.
Yes. We handle Apple Silicon Mac Mini logic board repairs including chip-level micro-soldering where feasible.
Repairs start from ₹3,500 after free diagnosis. Complex board faults may cost more — we quote upfront before any work begins.
Yes, where feasible. We diagnose chip-level faults and share repair options before proceeding.
We inspect thermal paste, fans, and airflow blockages. Deep cleaning and fan replacement when needed.
Diagnosis is often same-day. Board-level repairs depend on complexity and parts.
Legacy iPhone 5 to 8 Plus is ₹1,000. X series ₹1,800. 11 series ₹2,500. 12 series ₹2,800. 13 series ₹3,000. 14 series ₹3,500. 15 series ₹3,800. 16 series ₹4,000. 17 series ₹5,500. Calibration, waterproofing, and a 3-month warranty are included.
About 1 hour for most models when the cell is in stock.
Yes. After the cell is fitted we calibrate it so iOS can clear the Important Battery Message.
Yes. New waterproofing adhesive and seals are part of the series price.
3 months on the replacement battery and the labour.
Often yes. Dead iPhones are commonly caused by failed PMIC, charging IC, or liquid damage on the motherboard. We diagnose at chip level to determine if micro-soldering repair is feasible.
Micro-soldering is precision repair of individual IC chips on the iPhone logic board. Instead of replacing the entire motherboard, we replace the specific failed component — saving cost and preserving data.
Yes — we specialise in advanced liquid damage recovery. Our process includes ultrasonic cleaning, corrosion removal, and IC chip replacement for components damaged by liquid exposure.
Yes. No service, no network, and Wi-Fi greyed out are often caused by baseband or Wi-Fi IC failures on the motherboard. We diagnose and repair these at chip level.
Diagnosis is often same-day. Micro-soldering repairs typically take 2–4 days depending on fault complexity.
